Do you have a story in you that needs to be told? Or perhaps a poem to compose or a painting to make? Or do you have an idea you would like to research and develop into an article or an essay?

Myth Mountain is a programme for anyone who wants to work seriously on a creative project. It provides structure and guidance for your work, no matter what the medium. From scholarly research through to poetry, storytelling, music, visual art, video or dance or anything. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re an experienced practitioner, there will be something for you in this programme.

The first step will be deciding what it is exactly that you want to do. In your application, you’ll be asked to submit a proposal with a brief description of the finished piece of work you want to create. You will also set your own timetable, and decide on the date you want to submit the final piece. During the programme, you’ll be invited to present examples of your research and your work as it develops to a group of your fellow participants. In these group meetings, we’ll also share feedback on each other’s work and reflect on each other’s ways of working.

You will also have occasional meetings with myself as the program facilitator, to see how you’re getting on and to help you refine your practice. There is also another level of subscription that’s available that will give you access to a Compassionate Inquiry practitioner (see below). Throughout the programme we’ll also be sharing information on various related subjects, such as how to research, how to keep a portfolio of work, how to learn from other practitioners in your field, even how to promote your work and get it in front of an audience.

You will need to submit an application to join this programme. Please watch the video on this page first.

The Celtic Mythology programme, of which this programme is only one part, currently includes 120 hours of video lectures and group discussions, with new videos and materials added every week.

Access to all courses and materials is available with the same monthly membership fee of £59 / $75 per month (exchange rate as of September 2023). You can stop at anytime, there’s no obligation to continue a course you’ve started.

The Myth Mountain programme contains two strands. The first encompases all of the creative and research practices and is facilitated by Gwilym Morus-Baird. The second is an optional strand that’s accessible through a second tier of subscription called Compassionate Mountain. This includes everything in the first strand with additional one-on-one sessions with Lucy Morus-Baird, a Compassionate Inquiry practitioner.

Compassionate Inquiry is an approach designed by Dr Gabor Maté. It can shift old beliefs, release trauma held in the body and help you come back to a place of ease. If you feel stuck or restricted in some way, this second strand of the programme will help clear the way for your creative work.

The purpose of Compassionate Inquiry is to drill down to the core stories people tell themselves – to get them to see what story they are telling themselves unconsciously; what those beliefs are, where they came from; and guide them to the possibility of letting go of those stories, or letting go of the hold those stories have on them.” ~ Dr. Gabor Maté
