As this last session was recorded on the 25th of January, in honour of the the various Celtic celebrations happening on the day, I’ve included a few Youtube videos that give some historical background. Enjoy!

A quick video on the history of Scots and its many influences, and further to my own characterisation of Scots as English with some Gaelic effects, that’s not totally true! There are some Gaelic influences but these are mixed with many others, including Scandinavian. Anyhow, this video summarises the origins of the language very well:
